Epson PX800FW and PX700W - Two new models to meet high demands
Photo: Epson

Epson islaunching two new multifunction printers in the UK. These all-in-one devices are all about high quality. The PX800FW is easy to use, thanks to its large touchscreen, and can also send faxes. Although the PX700W isn’t able to do this, it can claim to be the Epson’s fastest inkjet printer to date. According to Epson, it can produce better quality photos than those from the labs.

The PX800FW combines a fax, printer, scanner and photocopier. It too should be able to beat the photo labs on the quality of its photos. Its black, shiny casing is already impressive, but the real showpiece is its 19.8cm touchscreen, which makes the printer easy and intuitive to use. The printer is also PictBridge compatible and is able to read memory cards without the use of the PC. It can communicate with the network without the need for cables thanks to the fact that it supports Ethernet and WLAN. In addition, the PX800FW is capable of two-sided printing when used with an optional accessory. Documents are scanned at a 4800dpi resolution, and photos get their quality from the Epson Claria inks.

Although the PX700W can’t send faxes, nor does it have a touchscreen, it does have a chic design and colour display, it is compact, and it can be used either with cables or on a wireless network. The scanner works at a 2400 dpi resolution, and high-quality photos can be printed in just 17 seconds.

Each printer uses individual cartridges and are already out – the PX800FW has an RRP of £299, and the PX700W £199.
